San gabriel valley progressive action

Our mission is to unite in solidarity in a multi-racial coalition and stand up for Black Lives Matter and other actions toward justice. Our Black community is tired of getting killed. They need all non-Black folks to rise up as proactive accomplices and comrades. We support the Freedom Fighters. We must not be silent or complicit.

Current Campaigns and Issues

  • Free Palestine

SGV Progressive Action stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and supports a permanent ceasefire, an end to occupation, and a future rooted in dignity, safety, and human rights for all. Our campaign focuses on education, community dialogue, and collective action. We reject dehumanization, displacement, and violence, and we believe our role as a local organization is to raise awareness, amplify impacted voices, and mobilize for policy change.

This work includes community events, teach-ins, resource sharing, local government advocacy, and partnerships with organizations committed to justice and liberation. We recognize that global struggles for freedom are connected and that ending harm abroad is part of building an equitable future here at home.

  • Monterey Park Data Center Project

SGV Progressive Action is monitoring a proposed 247,480-square-foot data center planned for Saturn Avenue in Monterey Park. The project includes a new electrical substation and 24 diesel generators but would create only about 26 permanent jobs. Data centers of this scale require large volumes of energy and water and have been linked in other regions to higher utility rates, increased emissions, and long-term environmental impacts.

Many residents were not informed early in the process, and no full Environmental Impact Report has been required. SGV Progressive Action is advocating for transparency, meaningful public engagement, and a thorough environmental review before any approvals move forward. We believe development should prioritize community needs, health, and long-term sustainability — not rushed private development without proper safeguards.

  • Mutual Aid

SGV Progressive Action partners with Operation Healthy Hearts to support communities facing displacement, food insecurity, and barriers to essential care. Through mutual aid, we share resources directly with people who need them, without bureaucracy or conditions. This work includes distributing food, hygiene supplies, medication support, and culturally responsive care packages.
